It's Saturday night here on the 67th floor of the Mashuptown Records Tower. I've put a couple of Bourbon and Cokes to work and felf like presenting a track for your Saturday PM. Hot from the new Mashuptown Drop at www.drop.io/mashuptown. DJ Otters long titled "Always Needing to Brush Your Shoulders Off". Details to follow. NSFW.
'N' Word Alert. We don't condone the use of the word here (my first cousin is African-Canadian) and I hesitated with publishing the track but it's got a good beat and you can dance to it. Apologies ahead of time if your are offended.
Thanks to Otter for uploading to the Drop <HERE>. Drop your tracks there - password 'Mashuptown'. Peace.

This doesn't happen too often here but we are gonna post two tracks same artist diff days same week. Seems Pheugoo whilst caring for a new addition to the family snuck in some secret mixing sessions for your aural pleasure. 'Feel My Bleeding Love' takes a soooooooooooo overused 'pella by Leona Lewis and puts it up against a stong Robbie Williams intrumental (Feel). Check out what seems to be like daily releases from Pheugoo at his site <HERE>. Peace.

Our good friend Pheugoo just released a new track that blew me away when I first got a sneak peak two days ago. This track will make any Mashup addict proud. Combining Bon Jovi's 'You give love a bad name' with 'Starlight' by The Superman Lovers. A + B = Splendid. Make sure you check out more of Pheugooisms at his site <HERE>. We are working on an interview with the brilliant Mr. Pheugoo so email any questions you have for Maurice to: mashuptown [at] gmail [dot] com. Peace

Just returned from the States, but Mash-Up Your Bootz
is partying Berlin on 2nd October again...and besides this it's, my
B-Day Celebration...yeah...expect some B-Day Specials at the Party, as
I just discovered the microphone for myself...haha...and watch out for
some "Gay Girls" ;-)
By the way don't wonder why the party is on a thursday, because it's the day of
the "German Reunification" so we have a free day here.

Some weeks ago, DJ Fac, the "Mashup
Madness from Switzerland", released a real Dancefloor-Hit. I just
tested it in the states...
The White Stripes famous song, "Seven Nation Army" also known as the
Soccer Euro-Cup Hit 2008, meets up with some fancy Backstreets Boys
Vocals. Believe me Nick & the boys can rock the hell outta
you... ;-)

What's up, party people? It's been a while since I hit you with any mashups, so to make up for it, here's a bunch of keepers for ya.
First up is "Ghost Busta Rhymes" from the one Ludachrist, creator of the legendary Bangfest album found <HERE>. Says the man himself: "I think part of the reason the song is so popular, is that Ray Parker
Jr. is preaching a universal truth. He knew exactly what was on our
minds, "...Bustin' makes me feel good." And it still does."
Here we have another M-Town fave, this time in the questionable humanoid form of DJ Tripp. B.U.D.D.Y. kills it on the dancefloor, I can tell you from experience. The kids will be singing along at the top of their lungs.
To curb the intensity somewhat, next up is another M-Town fave Norwegian Recycling. Okay, we have a lot of favorites here, I can't keep mentioning that all the time. Anyways, this one mashes Jack Johnson and Bob Marley. For whatever reason, the Jack Johnson mashups usually fail, but this one don't. Norwegian Recycling ? No Taylor, No Scar
Now here's The Bootleague. Don't know much about The Bootleague other than he/she/they are from France and have produced a killer mash of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Hoosiers. Definitely one to rock out to.
What else we got here? Well last but certainly not least, it's DJ STV SLV and his mashup of 2 huge artists right now: Estelle's and The Ting Tings. This track has a similar vibe to the Bootleague one above, and... is just easy to listen to, like a quality mashup should be.

"This is certainly the purest mashup i did; just added a bass drum and a kick plus few noises; rest of the work was to make Busta Rhymes voices fit with Bowie's Track. Bowie used to say it was one of his favorite Bowie's song; me too! For most Europeans consider New York to be very different from the other parts of USA, "This is not America" was the good song to melt with Busta's chef d'oeuvre "New York Shit".
I was front of my TV in France when I saw the Twins been destroyed and really it was for me like " OK, War against humanity has just started" ' Cos New York is much more than America, it's a symbol, Rastafarians can call it Babylon of course but it also means it's an international place a kind of giant mix...Ze big apple is also a legendary magical place for music, as say the song of the Scorsese Movie "If I can make it there I'll make it anywhere" so; I Love New York and I did put in this video all my favorite New York heroes, from King Kong to Spider man from Public Enemy to Robert De Niro...This is a love song!

Great news Mashup fans. It seems one of our favorite Mashup artists has been mixing and mashing up more than music the last little while. Yes he has been making 'beautiful music' the old fashioned way. We are happy to announce that Pheugoo and his partner have welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby girl into the world. Mum, Dad, and baby are doing well. Head on over to www.pheugoo.com and send him your congrats. Take a listen to one of Pheugoo's classics 'Loving you better each Day' <HERE>. Very fitting. Peace.

Update: Here is the track and some backround on it:
When Jean Louis Brossard, art director of french Transmusicales festival, let me hear the Australian band Pnau's "No more violence" for the first time, I first thought of an other great peace song "Feel like I'm fixin' to die" extract from Country Joe Mac Donald unforgettable performance in Woodstock festival . Other times Other Wars unfortunately... John Lennon was then the good guy to join in with his always good advices like : "Stay in bed & Grow your hair!" . I love so much this one ; I couldn't resist..! Pink Floyd Lyrics seemed then to me perfect to supplement the idea of this Bootleg : Where is the real war ? Who are the real enemies? who are those people trying to control us behind these never ending wars ? Well 21century will answer these questions I hope... We'll have to be vigilant to stay free and keep in mind what Lennon said "Together we can get it together"...Peace" - Dj Le Clown.
We have a great track and video out from DJ Le Clown that we are waiting on permission from the lables to blast out later today. Join www.twitter.com, follow Mashuptown (click HERE) and you can get a sneak peak PLUS...
My good buddy Andy has been hard at it. In between appearing at gigs galore and the infamous BootieNYC he has managed to put together some great new Mashterpieces. His latest - Electro Rock. You don't find too many KC and The Sunshine mashes these days. Takes real talent to make those posers sound dope. Max puts them up against some tried and true C & C Music Factory. Get your dancin' shoes on folks. Much love to Max for a great track. Check out more of his work <Here>. Peace.
