Andy & Rich of Letherette met decades ago and have been making mysterious, charmingly unpolished music ever since. Their warm, tape enhanced beats are crafted from bits and pieces of the finest, melodic source material from music's golden genres, funk and soul. Their roughly chopped rhythms are imbued with a personable, feel good vibe that is lacking in most modern music these days. Everyone from Madlib, MF Doom, Flying Lotus to Pete Rock comes to mind when listening to this mix. Frankly, its sublime and we're proud to host this mix of selected tape scraps and bits. Kper is the musical alias of Laurent Fintoni, music journalist and writer at large. Flying Lotus tore it up both times he performed for us and much like this mix will, left the crowd begging for more. This short but sweet set from Flying Lotus comes to us via the BBC. The Landau Orchestra's extravagant metamorphosis from IDM focused Landau to todays jazz and funk heavy Orchestra is the most promising musical maturation Percussion Lab has ever witnessed. The resulting performances are jaw dropping, their music, emotionally stirring and their sound, classic. Percussion Lab is proud to present a recording from our past Flying Lotus Record Release Party - definitely one of our best featured sets ever - possibly one of the best live sets of recorded music on the internet. Period. Be sure to sample their latest release on Milan Records, "Janus Plays Telephone."

Brooklyn based RJ Valeo, author of the seminal "September," recently returned with a full-length EP for Moodgadget entitled "Mission to Mars". We were lucky enough to nab this live set from one of NYC's finest minimal-tech nights, LESS. Expect heady thick atmospheres, deep bass and crisp, consistent percussion. Zero gravity, space-beats.

And now for something completely different. Jungletalk are Adam Pavao and Sarah Ruba, a crowd-pleasing dynamic duo who drops everything from Prince to Toney Allen throughout their delectible sets. This is pop, my friends, unpretentious and deliberate. Jungletalk have been rocking Cassette NYC for the past year and are due to drop an album on Normrex in the near future.

This month's featured set, from the Czech Republic, is a throwback to the glory days of IDM. Sonority, a multi-instrumentalist inspired by artists such as Lackluster and early Autechre mixes crunchy electronic beats with warm, emotive melodies.

Thavius Beck has had an illustrious career producing and performing with Saul Williams, as Adlib, and under his Labwaste project with fellow LA artist Subtitle. His new dystopian electro hop beats as Thavius Beck amazed us all at Percussion Labs Mush Fall Tour show and we are happy to present this slice of Californias finest to those of you who couldn't be there. Be sure to check out his latest release, Thru, available on Mush Records. Any fans of dark, synth heavy hip hop will be thankful you did.

Pandatone mixes the ethereal with the poppy. Acoustic textures and vocal edits meld with fragile guitar and vibraphone in what must be Percussion Labs most sentimental mix yet. Pandatone is a fan of the naive, melodic sounds currently thriving in the Japanese underground. Its a place where broken electronic beats and reverb-soaked vocals meet, and a place any fan of the subtle is sure to enjoy. This set, from the Percussion Lab hosted final stop on Mush Records' Fall Tour, features Caural performing a spectacular "Brooklyn Homecoming" set. Michael Upton, aka Jet Jaguar, has pieced together this fantastic, deep set for us, featuring gems by such artists as AtomTM, Jan Jelinek and Dabrye. He's been busy throughout his musical career crafting everything from downtempo, crunchy tracks as Jet Jaguar, to musical field recordings as Montano. Morgan Packard has been involved with music since his early studies in Jazz Saxaphone at Boston's New England Conservatory. Most recently known for his collaboration with Ezekiel Honig on "Early Morning Migration," Morgan has been honing his skillful manipulation of ambient soundscapes into an enchanting live set which he debuted at this past summer's BAPLab. Expect blissful drones and minimal textures in this short but sweet set.

Lackluster, a Percussion Lab favorite, has finally graced us with a lengthy, crunchy set of melodically minded electronics. With an extensive back catalog of releases on labels such as DeFocus, Merck, UCover and New Speak, Lackluster has always been skilled in drawing the listener in with emotive melodies and off-kilter beats. Be sure to not sleep on his earlier releases, such as the classic, "Wrapping." This set takes things down a slightly darker, more cut up route - possibly even more effective than Lacklusters more naive sounding earlier work. Lacklusters releases are available conveniently through his online web-based shop located at lackluster.org.

Here is Side B of Rockwell (AkA Deru) and Chemta's ill underground Hip Hop mix, "Departures." Deru may be known to you from his dusty, digitally aged ambient electronic releases on Neo Ouija and Merck Records but this set focuses on his earlier hip hop influences. Deru's remix on the latest Machine Drum remix album from M3rck is a perfect blend of these seemingly disparate elements. Be sure to check Chemta's great new project, "The Fun Years."
