I finally got a new voice mail number for the podcast. Leave your comments, criticisms, or whatever else you'd like at 206-350-2102. Thanks for listening and I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.
It's been quite awhile since we've done a con report, so here we are live from our hotel room at the Providence Anime Conference. PAC took place October 3 - 5, 2008 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI. This was the first ever 21 and over anime convention, and we were there to witness it first hand. If you want to see the photos from the con be sure to check out Diana's Flickr page. It was a great convention and we had a blast. I really hope to see more cons like this in the future. Thanks for listening!
This episode fueled by podcaster guilt. Yep that's right, after six months I finally put out a new show. In this episode we catch up with what I've been doing and not been doing (like podcasting), and check out all the crazy voicemail that has been hanging out in my InBox. Then John gives us his interesting perspectives on Death Note and Kingdom Hearts. All this and more in this episode of the WARP Anime Podcast!
Hey everyone. I've been getting quite a few e-mails this week asking if we'll be at Otakon next weekend. With the way gas prices are and the ridiculous cost for hotels in Baltimore, I'm afraid we won't be making it this year. However if your going to be at the Providence Anime Conference in October we'll be there. If you haven't heard of PAC it's the first ever 21 and over anime convention. This is pretty intriguing to us, so if your planning on going drop me an e-mail and maybe we can meet up for a beer or three.
I know it's been a full two months since I promised a return of podcast episodes, and I still haven't delivered. To be honest I've been pretty busy and just haven't felt motivated to produce any new episodes. I've been kicking some ideas around for a new run of shows though, so expect something before too terribly long.
In the meantime, would you like to win a 16GB iPod Touch? If you take this short audience survey by August 30th, you will be thrown into a drawing courtesy of my podcast host Wizzard Media. I don't normally like pushing these things on you, but I figured this is a pretty cool deal since these iPods are pretty sweet (and expensive). So CLICK HERE to take the survey. Thanks and good luck!
Thanks for hanging in there with my lameness, and thanks a lot for your continued support!
Hey all. Just wanted to post a quick update and let you know that I'm still alive. Been pretty busy these last couple months. Went on vacation, went to a con, and have just been generally busy with life stuff.
Look forward to a new episode soon though detailing our excellent time at Anime Punch this past April in Columbus, Ohio. Some of you long time listeners may remember that we attended this con back in 2006, but skipped 2007 since we were saving up for our trip to Japan. 2006 rocked, and 2008 was even better. This may very be the best anime convention around. Seriously. We'll tell you all about it real soon.
In the "welcome to 8 years ago" category, I started myself a blog. There will be some anime and Japanese content, but for the most part it will be an outlet of sorts. So if your going through withdrawal, surf on over to schnuth.com.
Thanks again for hanging in there, and I'll be talking to you all again real soon.
As mentioned last episode (episode #70), here are the scans promised by Eeeper of the Mangamax article about Rail Of The Star written by Helen McCarthy:
This episode I take a look at the manga Town Of Evening Calm, Country Of Cherry Blossoms. Joining me on the review is Eeeper of the Eeeper's
Choice Podcast. Eeeper actually sent me this manga in to review, and is a good example of how to get me to review something. :) It's a great manga,
and seems to be overlooked like most great manga these days. Enjoy the review!

Here is another attempt at me doing a video cast. I think it actually turned out pretty decent, but you be the judge. I take you on a tour of the Evangelion Memorial Theater laserdisc boxset. The Japanese have a knack for putting out insane (and insanely priced) collector's sets, and this one is no exception.

This episode I do what most lazy unprepared podcasters do, read your e-mail! I've been playing a lot of voicemail lately and have been neglecting all your great e-mail, so we start correcting that in this episode. I also take a look at some news including the upcoming live-action Akira movie, and some strange individuals in Japan. Don't forget to keep those e-mails and voicemails coming in, I always love to hear from you. The voicemail number is 206-339-9277 in case you forgot.

This episode I take a look at the awesome Japanese reality video game show, Game Center CX. Even though it's not anime I still highly recommend it. Highly entertaining, even if your not a fan of old Nintendo games. But everyone loves old Nintendo games right? I also talk about the state of the podcast, some anime news, and of course your voicemail. Don't forget to call those in at 206-339-9277!
Intro music this episode is "N.M.H." by Masafumi Takada, from the No More Heroes Original Soundtrack.

Really it isn't. I don't recommend getting bronchitis at all. But unfortunately it's what happened to me last week. I was hoping to get a podcast up this week, but that may not happen. I'm pretty much better now but I still have some coughing going on. You really don't want to listen to me cough my head off since that doesn't make for good podcasting. So there might not be a show this week. Just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth again. :)
This week I review the awesome classic anime film Royal Space Force: Wings Of Honneamise. It's a fantastic film, but it's too bad that Bandai Visual is charging an arm and a leg for the DVD. I also look at some otaku news, and catch up on e-mails and voicemails. Don't forget to leave a voicemail at 206-339-9277 and get on the podcast. See you next time!
Music this episode was "Toki Wo Koete" from Zeta Gundam.

Due to popular demand, here is the fourth and final installment of our Japan travelogue from last May. In this episode we go to the
Ramen Museum, the Studio Ghibli Museum, and experience the wonders and horrors of otaku mecca Akihabara first hand. Don't
miss this epic conclusion!
Before the episode we also announce the winner of the Dragonball Z: Broly Double Feature Blu-Ray disc. Thanks to everyone for
entering, and thanks again to Funimation for supplying the prize. There
will be many more DVD giveaways in the future, so stay subscribed so you don't miss out.

This episode I finally get around to reviewing a manga. I kept promising to do it and this week I make good when I take a look at Project X Challengers: Seven Eleven. I also share my thoughts and reactions about the conclusion of the second season of Genshiken and the first episode of Macross Frontier. Did I also mention that if you listen closely you could win your very own Dragonball Z Blu-Ray movie? It doesn't get much better then this.
Music in this episode is from the game, Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire. I've been spending the holidays with my Duo and I'm addicted to this soundtrack.

Welcome to the second ever "Obligatory Holiday Podcast"! I didn't do a holiday themed show last year, so I figured I'd give it another shot this year. If you missed th last one, be sure to go in the way back machine and check out episode 15. In this episode I review the anime Itsudatte My Santa!, give some news bits, and read some e-mail. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed and left a comment last episode. It's good to be back!

Hey everyone I'm back. I never really left but I haven't put out a podcast in awhile, so here's a fresh one. In this episode I discuss what I've been doing these last few months, talk a bit about the second season of Genshiken, and get through the backlog of voicemail that has been piling up. Sorry for taking such a long time off. I definitely needed a break, but I didn't mean to be gone for so long. Thanks to everyone who has stayed subscribed and welcome new listeners!
Media Blasters - US distributor for Genshiken. Be sure to support the anime you love! Buy the new season when it hits DVD.
Podcast promos:
Happy House Of Hentai - Lord K. and Hello Kitty has been taking a podcast break too, but are back firing on all cylinders. If they can put out three shows a week I should be able to handle one right? :)

Hey all. I just wanted to put up a quick post to let you know I'm still alive. The podcast should be returning soon, but here's a little something to watch in the interim. A year or so ago I downloaded a torrent consisting of nothing but various Japanese television commercials. I've been rather intrigued by these so I thought I'd post up some of my favorites. Formatted for your iPod so you can waste time at school, work, or your next proctologist exam.
This has to be the manliest instant ramen noodle commercial ever. I think it could only get manlier if Kenshiro from Fist Of The North Star would team up with Nissin to create a even manlier version. But I'm afraid that will never happen.
Speaking of manly men, if your needing a Aaron fix you can listen to me on episode #115 of Most People Are DJs. I'm not talking about anime though. Instead I chat with Mikel OD about a Henry Rollins spoken word show I attended. If they ever made a live action version of Fist Of The North Star, I sure hope they would cast Rollins as Kenshiro.
Enjoy the commercial, and let me know if your interested in seeing more of this sort of thing.
Hello friends. I'm a liar, really I am.... and I'm sorry for it. According to the title of the podcast I'm supposed to get shows out WEEKLY. I haven't been living up to that promise for awhile. As you can see I haven't released a podcast in over a month.
Just to let you all know everything is fine in my little corner of the world. But thanks for all the e-mail inquiries, I do appreciate them as always. It seems that I've hit a wall with podcasting. I still like podcasting and of course I still love anime, but I'm afraid I'm starting to burn out a bit with getting the podcasts out each week. Unlike other podcasts this is a one man affair, meaning that I do the whole thing myself. While this has worked out fine in the past, lately it's just been too much. So to let you know I'm putting the podcast on hiatus.
You can expect the final Japan Trip cast to show up before too long though. We still want to talk about our adventures in Akihabara, and our day at the Studio Ghibli museum. Both of which were absolutely amazing. These episodes have been a bit experimental and haven't been ordinary WARP podcasts. I wanted to try something different, and I think these were a nice change of pace. The response has been really positive, so thanks for everyone who has stuck around during these out of format episodes.
Speaking of format that is something I want to change once WARP starts back up. I do still want to change the name of the podcast eventually, and start concentrating on Japanese pop-culture as a whole instead of just anime. You know other things I love about Japan like movies, TV dramas, video games, music, etc.
Thanks for subscribing and sticking around for the past two years. What started out as a way to get myself to watch my ever growing queue of DVDs (and to justify the college education I'm still paying off) has led to so much more. Thanks to this podcast I've made many friends and have had experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise. For those reasons alone I don't want to end the podcast. So the show is going on hiatus, and one day soon it'll be back better then ever. So why not stay subscribed since you'll never know what might come down the old RSS feed.
This is the third part of our Japan travelogue where our heroes sleep in a ryokan, party it up at the Sanja Festival, hob knob with yakuza, and bathe with a naked Scotsman!
Sorry about the lack of podcasts lately. On top of being summer I've just been really unmotivated lately when it comes to podcasting. But thanks to everyone who got my butt in gear, here is another episode! Thanks for all the e-mails, and be assured that everything is well in my little world. I've just been a very bad and lazy podcaster. :(

We didn't finish the next of our Japan Trip podcasts for this week. It just didn't work out last weekend. So instead I'm pleased to present a review of Howl's Moving Castle. This was submitted by C2 who has contributed to the podcast before, joined by the lovely Lady Wordsmith. They go very in depth talking about this film, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did.
