ddpesh is a duo that comes at us from the east side – Brooklyn, New York to be exact. Remixers, mashup artists, and producers, these guys are probably most known for their remix of Chromeo’s “Momma’s Boy” but have a junkload of other gems in their repertoire. Here they stick to the east side sounds with their hometown “Nasty Boy” Biggie Smalls on the mic and hometown band MGMT on the music. First, on Friday we can serve you "Mash-Up Your Beach" in Berlin. DJ Morgoth's Mash-Up Your Bootz Party goes Beach-Party and as usual Dr.Waumiau & Morgoth rockin' the crowd with a wild mixture of Rock-Pop-Electro-Rap- Metal-Everything music, from yesterday till today. And be sure there will be a lot of summer themed tunez during the sets.
	Also on Friday you can visit BOOTIE Munich. And the Bavarian guys around BootOX, DJ Y alias JY and FM 24 organized a special "Shower Power Mashup Show". Expect some GoGos dancing for you, with a lot of water... :-) This could be going hot as hell.

..it just sort of came to me one night when I was drunk and playing around in Ableton (usually a good combo). I was chopping up DVNO when the J-Timbo song just popped into my head. About 6 hours later I had the mashup essentially finished.
I used a Waves L2 limiter on the master bus in Ableton 7, and the beer I used was Guinness. Other than that the effects you hear are just clips stretched out really long and pitched up or down, reversed, or just generally fucked with.

A Guiness powered track. DVNO mashed up with 'What goes around comes around'. Cherry stuff - hope to hear more from The Battle School Studios. You can find more of his work HERE and hispace page HERE.

'Sometimes it's nice to do a piece of music only for the pleasure; I always do of course, but I mean doing it even if u know you won't necessary be able to play it in a dance floor, which is finally the aim of all those tracks we bootleggers remixers do...This was the case for that song...Have u noticed I called it song...that's a sign! I loved so much ze 2 original songs that i had to do it or at least try. Was quiet a huge challenge to make Fantastic Dionne Warwick's version of "Raindrops keep falling on my head" ( BJ Thomas song), fit with the Ultra innovative world of Missy Elliot which I consider as a Great Singer and Human being; it's funny ze way u have the feeling to get close to people through songs and even more through their images on films. I must say that Hype Williams did a great job on her videos and i did used 2 of them (i couldn't resist on the dance sequence under the rain so i grabbed it) ....It was then obvious for me to use also one of the greatest musical movie of the 20th century "Singin' in ze rain"... What else to add part from:" A bit too much of rain nowadays what you think ?" hope this song will help ze sky to stop crying too much tears on Earth.'

The new band Neon Neon, a project from Boom Bip and Gruff Rhys, known as the frontman of Super Furry Animals, are meeting up with Depeche Mode's classic People Are People and a bit of Latour.

New PingPong showed up yesterday in the mtown inbox. Great track from one of the producers of Mashup Industries. A few words form Pingpong:

After 6 months of working on other projects i found the time to produce a few new mashups. here comes the first one!
NIN - the hand that feeds vs. Roisin Murphy - You Know.
I've got the roisin murphy file and was looking for a good idea to mash it. while i listened to it NIN was playing on itunes, it was pure luck.
i don't have to search for the right music, i've found it in the first 20seconds.
The producing process was about 1day, then the first rough mix was ready, and it sounded really powerful.
additionally i put some reverb and delay on the voice and did some EQ'ing.
Thats it, no extra Fx or mixing tricks. simple A/B mashup. the whole thing was done 1,5 days.
Again, my big luck was that itunes runned in background :-)
Therefore, always listen to music when you are at work, at home, or when you producing mashups! :-)
