November 13,2008 - Josh and Ron spend some time talking with renowned comic writer Brian Wood about his work on DMZ, Northlanders, Local, the New York Four, and everything in between. It's ever so slightly possible that we even start in on some of the ways politics and current events effects Brian's stories, as well as the difference between working short term and long term. And finally, we answer the question of why that viking isn't on a boat like a viking should be.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ifanboyPOW/~4/452101354" height="1" width="1"/>

Talksplode #4 with Eric Canete of End League and Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin

October 30,2008 - We're back with more creator conversation goodness, and this time, we're talking to artist Eric Canete, current artist on End League, written by former Talksplode guest Rick Remender. You might also know Eric's work from Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin, written by other former Talksplode guest Joe Casey.

 Weird coincidence, right?

Josh and Eric talk about his time working in Animation on such projects as Aeon Flux, Justice League Unlimited, The Batman, and the Legion of Superheroes, and coming back to work in comics again. Then, the tables turn, and he starts interviewing Josh, which might be an iFanboy Talksplode first, and some really great conversation follows.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ifanboyPOW/~4/437360394" height="1" width="1"/>

Ron, Conor and Josh will share what they loved and hated about the week's comics. With a deep, sometimes scary knowledge of the depths and intricacies of pop culture and the geek lifestyle, the conversations can spin off in many directions. While comics, graphic novels and trade paperbacks are the center of the iFanboy universe, the discussion often covers the video games, movies and TV shows which will capture the fancy of your regular comic book reader. Fun, intelligent, witty and entertaining, the iFanboy crew are just as likely to agree as argue about what's good and what's bad in superhero comics, indie comics, humorous comics, and important graphic novels as well as the creators, writers and artists behind them. We've even occasionally been in the same room as guys like Brian Michael Bendis, Kurt Busiek, Warren Ellis, Jim Lee, Joe Quesada, Steve Dillon, Kevin Smith, Stan Lee and others. It was a big room, but we were in it. This podcast is so good, you don't even need to read comic books to enjoy it, but it's a lot better if you do.</itunes:summary>

<feedburner:origEnclosureLink>http://media.libsyn.com/media/ifanboy/iFanboy_podcast153.mp3</feedburner:origEnclosureLink>

Rick's doing work for just about every publisher out there, and the projects are all over the place in terms of genre. We talk with him about working on comics, and doing creator owned work as well as licensed work for hire. This one's probably not so much for the kids, because after all, this is the guy who write the line "Let nun suck.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ifanboyPOW/~4/396416328" height="1" width="1"/>

<feedburner:origEnclosureLink>http://media.libsyn.com/media/ifanboy/iFanboy_podcast139a.mp3</feedburner:origEnclosureLink>

iFanboy.com Pick of the Week #139 - Final Crisis #2

June 29, 2008 - Everyone had a giant stack of comics to choose from this week, and thankfully we made it through unscathed. In the end, Conor was tickled by his old favorite, the big DC event book, but there were plenty of other good choices as well. And who is this Josh who's been showing up lately?
00:01:48 - Conor loved all his books, but he loved Final Crisis #2 the best. It may surprise you who agreed, and who didn't.
00:13:20 - Marvel gave you the double shot of New Avengers #39 and Mighty Avengers #15, and so do we.
00:19:09 - Despite a failed segue, Superman #676 by James Robinson was pretty good.
00:23:20 - Immortal Iron Fist #16 was the best issue Matt Fraction has ever written.
00:25:52 - Young Avengers Presents Hawkeye #6 was the best issue Matt Fraction has ever written.
00:31:45 - BPRD The Ectoplasmic Man was a great one shot. Get into it!
00:33:30 - Fantastic Four #558 is the book Ron's been waiting for. Doom!
00:34:47 - How long can FEAR Agent continue to be awesome? Issue #22 continues the greatness.
00:36:26 - Guess what looked great, but didn't read so well. Hulk #4 anyone?

 User Reviews
00:39:18 - Neb didn't love Ultimate Spider-Man #123. Some of us are with him, some are not.
00:41:59 - Tork was with us, because Green Lantern #32 was still really very good.

 E-Mail
00:45:32 - Vito DelSante wants to say thank you to everyone.
00:47:06 - Jamie is listening to old shows, and it appears we've changed. Well, our stacks have.

 Voicemail
 00:53:20 - Nate found a great deal. We love that.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/ifanboyPOW/~4/322768941" height="1" width="1"/>
