This EP is born from the collaboration Volfoniq had with the taiwanese hiphop band 'KouChouChing', for wich
Volfoniq made a remix out on their double LP 'Kou... it's coming out !' (out in TaÏwan in 2007). Track #3 is a new version of this remix.

Based on this riddim, two new collaborations followed with french singers 'Tribuman' and 'Pier', creating a ragga-dub and a poetic-slam that transpose the 'Taïwan riddim' into other universes...

Mr. H und Mr. S sind die Profis.
Unter diesem Arbeitstitel haben die beiden MCs HMC und SENDER aus Erlangen/Bayern eine Mixtape-EP auf die Beine gestellt. Das Resultat ist deutscher HipHop mit Witz und Charme, der auch durchaus nach vorne geht.
Battle Proof, Däni Damn und J.C. 61 haben Rap-Parts beigesteuert, Mill-R und SENDER einige Beats.

Raflesia kommen aus dem Revier und machen Synth-Hop ohne grobe Hookline. Hooklines sind kleine catchy Motive die im Ohr hängen bleiben sollten. Ob das hängen bleibt? Die Beats schläfern mich regelmässig ein, aber das ist wohl beabsichtigt. Die Lyrics haun hin, das gibt einen Stern, die Bild und den Fokus.

Sofern versbox nicht gerade neue Lieder für ein kommendes Album schreibt, entstehen auch zwischen diesen noch diverse Stücke. »komplett« ist der zweite neue Track seit dem letzen VBX Album »schattenboxen«.

Wenn es dieses Mal auch um ein für versbox eher untypisches Thema geht, so berichtet Tycoon doch mit viel Tiefe über ein sehr persönliches Thema. Die Beats sind wie zu erwarten wieder von DJ Gambit und unterstützen den ruhigen Wortfluss von Tycoons Rap.

Zugegeben, dieses Lied ist sicherlich zu melancholisch für einen Sommerhit, viel zu ruhig für ein WM-Nachbeben und sehr unauffällig, verglichen mit all den Charthits. Andererseits – vielleicht sind es genau jene ausformulierte Gedanken, welche Dich momentan bewegen und bei einer ganz besonderen Person in Deinen Sinn kommen.

NavyRed, based in London, delivers a jazzy influenced Hip-Hop EP. Tons of real instruments like guitars, flutes, one real trumpet and a piano meet Navy and her production crew.

Influences from various cultural backgrounds and eras, mixed with an UK urban feel, helped Navy create her own style, which sounds very much like pizza napoli.

Having successfully completed an OCN in Sound-Engineering and currently undergoing her Diploma in Music-Technology, she is expanding her knowledge on overall production. Some more pressure in the sound would be fine and she's ready for the charts.

Navy professionally continues her mission in becoming a recognised female artist and has recently released her first EP in europe. That's somewhere around the corner.

Nachdem jetzt sogar hier die WM erwähnt wurde, konnte ich mich endlich mal dazu durchringen, den versprochenen Text über versbox zu schreiben … Gewidmet allen verbarrikadierten WM-Abtrünnigen, wie auch ich es einer bin. *eg*

versbox, alternativ auch VBX genannt, ist eine HipHop-Band, die dem einen oder anderen Schweizer möglicherweise bereits bekannt ist, da sie unter anderem auch schon auf der G8-Gegendemo in Davos in der Schweiz gespielt haben. Auf einer Vielzahl von Konzerten (u.a. mit Jeru the Damaja, Afu-Ra, Toni L, Curse, MC Rene, David P., MC Fresh, Kool Savas, Patrice, Gentleman, Such a surge, DJ Friction) und kleineren Benefizveranstaltungen, wie z.B. Friedensdemos oder für Amnesty International, haben sich die Jungs seit 1997 eine treue Zuhörerschaft erspielt.

Just Banks is the new project by Comatronic founder Joko13. To celebrate his signing to Etage Noir Recordings, he is giving away the tune "Call Me" for free. "Call Me" is a laid back yet stomping downbeat groover with unobtrusive synth lines and vocal cut-ups.

Banks is a long-time musical companion of Marcus Füreder aka Parov Stelar and recently he engaged the talents of the San Francisco based duo Blaktroniks, who came up with the catchy vocals for his first vinyl release on Etage Noir entitled "360 Degrees". The 12" will be released in fall 2006.
